We have responded to two consultations on proposed reforms to ‘unlock the UK pensions market for growth’ and to the Local Government Pension scheme (LGPS). Whilst welcoming changes for the LGPS aimed at improving governance standards, the APPT response raises questions in relation to the evidence base behind the key proposals being championed to promote scale in ‘unlocking’ the DC market amidst concerns these may undermine members’ pension outcomes.
